Baseball season is coming to an end...as team mom of my son's little league team, it is now time to decide on a team party. Being the mom that I am, a simple pizza party is not an option, even if it's at John's Incredible Pizza. Going to watch a professional baseball game is always fun, but not as personable as I would like. I want something different and lots of fun for the kids.
1. Baseball Game with our favorite players
So many times I wished I could go out there and practice with them...now I get my chance. But, as much as I love and miss playing softball, these are kids that I've grown to love and making them laugh warms my heart. I plan to swing in circles when I bat, fall dramatically down and crawl to the base, run the wrong way-to third instead of first, or run in circles around the player while they try to tag me out. Something, just to make them laugh.
2. BBQ at my house afterward
A baseball themed barbeque with hot dogs and nachos is not a novel idea, but I'd like to make it fun. We will have a water slide, make sundaes in baseball helmets, play some simple games: a piñata for batting practice, a water balloon toss for throwing and catching practice, a 3-legged race for team work and running.
Oh I can't wait. This is what I live for. Presentation is everything, so I'd better get to cleaning an working on decorations!
